Friday the 13th

I’m not a superstitious person and Friday the 13th means nothing to me in the way that it does to many of the people in our western culture. But today started out NAR! The worst of it is due to a run-in with my computer; I have lost every. piece. of. email. I’ve. gotten. for. the. past. two. years. Well, the email that came to my Outlook Express, that is. Which was my most important account. That’s it for me. I’m using my Gmail account and nothing else from now on.

  1. Simon spent 4 hours trying to sort out our Norton Antivirus renewal that we paid for ages ago, and never succeeded. I have tried several websites this evening just to find sound samples of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, and there are NO sound files to be found!! Whats going on?!?

  2. I actually love Gmail. I’ve had several run-ins with Outlook Express, so it’s strictly off limits to me.

Found you via Blurt it! :) Enjoyed your blog.

  3. Steph:

I am by no means a computer expert, but I checked on line and there are a number of inexpensive programs that may help you restore the files. If you know any geeks, ask if a system restore would help. Once you have recovered the e-mails, may I suggest that you move them to a flash drive…. Flash drives are cheap and they hold a lot of data.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Sorry to hear about your email issues. Going forward, you might want to buy an external hard drive and back up your files every month or so. Hopefully you can restore the ones you think you lost.
