C'est Fini - Wish I Had a Beer

This house is much easier to clean that the monstrosity we moved out of last August, but I still want a Merry Maid someday.

Notice how she smiles no matter what chore she's doing? That's because back then women had a specific gene that made them love housework and cleaning up after everyone.

Geez, did we really buy into that "happy little homemaker" crap?

I just found my old "Bill and Susan" books that my mom had saved from when I was in school. Those pictures kill me: First of all, everyone is white; secondly, Mom does her housework in high heels, nylons, a dress, and is always smiling. Bill dresses in knee pants and has a dog; Susan dresses in a dress and has a kitten, and Dad comes home dressed in a suit with a Homburg hat! What's scary is that when I was little, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary about those illustrations in the books.

I try to think of how much fun I will have after having cleaned the place - weeks and weeks of fun. *giggle*

Remember Disney's "Snow White"?
I bought it for the kids, but put it into a cool dark place after watching the scene were Snow White sings "One day my prince will come!" - seeing her swinging the broom so inbrünstig was beyond my tolerance level!

Could not find the scene I remember,
in this one she's baking a pie (dreaming of the Naked Chef?).

P.S.:
It has been snowing all morning!
(I swear, it's true.)

Tomorrow when I dust, I'm going to plaster a big grin on my face, and see what it gets me. I believe in magic!
