I get 20.5 miles to the gallon -- a mid-size sedan also they said. Oh well. I know I need more exercise and a better diet but I let my doctor worry cause I'm not going to bother,
To jpdeni -- Steph gets 25 miles to the gallon of box wine, of course. I get 20.5 miles per gallon of Labatt's! LOL
I loved the '60s-era Beetles. Great little car! Volkswagen did some of the most incredibly creative advertising for that car. I remember one year their print ads were just a blank with a caption that said, "We don't need to show you what the new model looks like - it's still the Beetle". I read that they were a little nervous about running that ad, but it got a huge amount of response - dealerships were flooded with people wanting to see the new Beetle! I just loved mine -I did all the maintenance on it because it was so easy to work on.
Mine was named, naturally, "Herbie" after the car in The Love Bug movie. The other morning, as I was heading off to class, I passed by a local gas station and there was a Beetle painted exactly like the one in the Love Bug, complete with racing stripes and the number 53. So cool. If I had the money to be a car colletor, I'd have stopped and made an offer.
A gallon of what?
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm in the same range as you. 23.5 MPG.
We're really just old '68 VW Beetles.
ReplyDeleteI get 32 mph = a hybrid! :)
