Things I Need to Remember

When I get down like I am today, I constantly harp at myself with different favorite phrases like, "Buck up, little Buckaroo!", "Life's messy. Put on an apron", "Life's tough. Buy a fucking helmet" and "If the tide's too strong, turn belly up and float until you get downstream where it's calmer." You know what I'm talking about.

But there are more constructive, hopeful things that I need to remember:

  • This too shall pass.
  • The inheritance will come at the appropriate time, no sooner, no later.
  • When it does, I will pay off the student loans and debts, and exhale.
  • We've never been out on the street yet.
  • Karma works.
  • Vienna waits for me.

  1. Don't forget... "everybody's got to skin their own mule."

It is from something but I can't remember what...

  4. You know, I'm thinking the same thoughts, though there is no inheritance. My thoughts are I'm layed off today, but I'm talented, strong and a survivor. I'll do anything to keep the family afloat, even pull my own teeth (molar), as I did three years ago, to make things work. We'll get through, my friend, we always do.

  5. I wish that I could go get a job --I know Ville could land me something that I'd like-- but my health is so bad and I can't depend on it day-to-day. This has been building on me since 1985 (remember that throat NAR I always complained of back then?) and so far gone now that the only work I can do is at home, and even that has suffered lately.

Yes, we'll get through. We will!
