It's National Absinthe Day

Friday, March 5th, marks National Absinthe Day! Celebrate with Lucid, the first genuine absinthe to be legalized on the US market in 2007. J & K are coming over for dinner, and we'll be imbibing later in the evening.

Happy Friday everyone!

P.S. Don't believe everything old Tony tells you...

When is somebody gonna designate a Bacon-infused Bourbon Day? Sheesh.

I won't be an Absinthe virgin after tonight! :)

Maybe you should. Just make a YouTube vid about it and you're good to go.

I have sound out here at work. If that ending was supposed to be "your anthony on absinthe", well.... yeah... that's kinda bogus.

It's the 65% alcohol (not 65 proof, 65 PER CENT) that does it. The thujone just rounds it out a bit.

Propagating the mythology is part of the fun though, don't you think?

Years ago I found a recipe to make my own Absinthe and even grew my own Wormwood.

I must give it a try now that you reminded me.

Thanks.

Now there's a commodity you could sell (under the table, of course), and make a bundle.

Well, I did it. I had two glasses and it was an interesting experience. No hallucinations, nothing really weird, just a nice, easy high. I don't know what it would be like after about 7 or 8 glasses like Bourdain claims to have drank, but I certainly didn't feel driven to madness nor did I see any green fairies.
