Taking the Day Off

While I cannot (indeed, do not want to) take a day off from being a parent, partner, and provider, I've decided that today I'm taking a day off from the following:

Worrying, caring what people think, being the chores cop, knowing it all, playing Gandhi, putting out fires, answering my phone, handling details, multi-tasking, working it out, holding it in, sucking it up, planning ahead, solving problems, being a cheerleader, saying the right thing, being diplomatic, being Super-Everything, putting everyone else first, trying to be a saint, making the bed, remembering past failures, mentally and emotionally flogging myself, and worrying about other people's problems.

Today, I'm staying in my pajamas and taking a rest from all that. If I've learned anything at all in the 57 years that I've been here, it's that these things will always be waiting there until the next day. Sod it!

SOD IT...how very English of you!!! I know what you mean, being a Virgo has such added stress to my world, making all these daily lists of things to do such chores...not anymore...the bed is unmade, the floors need swept, dishes are always done though, I'm a stickler about coming into a messy kitchen in the morning for my first cup o brew...but all else can wait till the mood strikes. I have more important things to do, now that I am single and alone on my throne. Write, paint, design and wallow in each days new sunrise...I may not be getting rich, ahhh, but what a life to live!!! OK, enough of this bull, gotta get busy on this heap of antiques sitting un my living room awaiting cleaning and pricing...sigh...

I'm just one day into Libra, which means that I have a lot of Virgo traits; the morning kitchen thing...yes! I HATE making my coffee over a sink full of dishes.

Also, I live in England for a while in the late 70s and some expressions just stuck.
