I love the job, but miss the flexibility that the night shift gave me.

BTW Merisi, I too visited your "pink rain".
Love it!!
Let me know if you do "purple haze". It's my favorite colour.Villehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09163898369008063786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667514217502990299.post-39095267142569863722007-08-24T03:28:00.000-05:002007-08-24T03:28:00.000-05:00I wouldn't know why I notice these things, but in ...I wouldn't know why I notice these things, but in the case of "pink in the rain" I challenged myself to find more pink objects after I noticed the bike. Shallow breathing keeps one alive, but taking a deep breath every now and then is more exhilarating (I am not a "photographer", btw, only a flaneur with a camera *g*).

I have already as a child driven my parents to exhaustion because I loved to stay up late. When the kids were small, it was the only way to have some uninterrupted time. Well, I simply cannot fathom living without the late hours.
Do you know Margaret Attwood's poem In the Secular Night?Merisihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16781937797213521146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667514217502990299.post-15236934981184568202007-08-23T23:44:00.000-05:002007-08-23T23:44:00.000-05:00I'm very fortunate in that Nettl understands that ...I'm very fortunate in that Nettl understands that I'm a night person and cannot, will not, change. She wouldn't want me to anyway.

When we had everyone at home there were no fewer than 7 people in the house and sometimes 8. Late night was the only time that I got to delve into my work, which is writing and composition and which demand stretches of time with no interruptions or noise. Now, staying up is a habit more than anything, but one that I nurture and protect. My sanity depends on it!

Thanks for the comment!
StephKaye Wallerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06491607694389685973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667514217502990299.post-44378494082083856582007-08-23T20:35:00.000-05:002007-08-23T20:35:00.000-05:00I read your description next to your profile and I...I read your description next to your profile and I swear it could have been sucked from myhead at 4am this morning.
I told my husband yesterday that sleeping is a waste of time. It was 5 am and after my rant he demanded I get in to bed and go to sleep. I did and it took me one hour to fall asleep and I only slept 3 hours. I find life to exciting and too short to sleep it away!
thoughts?Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03630711151643124563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667514217502990299.post-72304606507428690532007-08-23T14:12:00.000-05:002007-08-23T14:12:00.000-05:00(Vienna waits for us...)(Vienna waits for us...)Kaye Wallerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06491607694389685973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5667514217502990299.post-50388745766255762722007-08-23T14:05:00.000-05:002007-08-23T14:05:00.000-05:00I am so ready for a break!
